Skill Game – A Visual Motor and Spatial Reasoning Challenge

Skill Game app, by Good Apps is a Game Center app listed as “Free for a short time”. Designed for iPhone and iPad, this is an electronic visual motor – pencil paper kind of activity requiring problem solving, fine motor and visual  spatial reasoning skills. Here are some images of Skill Game app and the rules to understand it a bit better:

Appropriate for older elementary students through adult, Skill Game app provides great opportunities to work on visual motor control, motor planning and spatial reasoning.  Here is a short video on the app:

Although you can use a finger to play in this app, a stylus would help with accuracy when drawing. One of the styluses from Stylus R Us’  , the Adonit ADJF Jot Flip Stylus  or iFaraday’s SALT styluses provide accuracy and allow the player to see the screen. When using a finger, your hand covers the screen limiting the ability to view all of the points.

This looks like an interesting app gone free for older students or adults that need work on visual motor and spatial reasoning skills.

Catch it while it still is free to add to your OT iTool Kit! Have fun!

Does this work just for iPhone and iPad or can you get the app for Android as well?

    Hi Carol-
I can’t clearly see a way to reset this after I use it, so that the next person can start from the easiest screen without my score/level. Any suggestions?

    • Hi Nicole,
I am working on getting answer to you on that. I will get back to you ASAP!

      Thank you for visiting!

      • Nicole says:

Thanks Carol. I put an email into the app developer today, so I’ll let you know if I find anything out as well.

        LOVE your blog!
Thanks for the work you put into it.

      • Nicole,
This is what I found out from the developer. I was quite impressed that he so quickly responded to my email!

thanks for your interest in our game.

Unfortunately we currently have no option in Skill Game to support multiple users or to restart the game. Since iOS doesn’t support multiple users (“one device for each user”) and most players use the built in Game Center it can lead to conflicts if we have our own user management in the game where each of this different users report to the same Game Center account linked to the device.

The only thing you could do is to set the adaptive or fixed difficulty back to the lowest value. But i know that doesn’t solve the problem in a adequate way.

But maybe that are some thoughts for one of the next updates.

        Best regards

Another not so great solution if you can’t start over is to uninstall and reinstall the app. Not exactly the answer you might be looking for. Sorry!

        Thanks Carol.
Maybe we planted a seed for a future update. 🙂

      • Hopefully. I was quite impressed with his prompt reply to the question posed!
