New iPad Cases

Lucky enough to get the New iPad (3rd Generation) and looking for a compatible case?

CNET, which I believe is a very respected review source,  provides a review of their top New iPad 3rd Generation cases. Although they review a wide variety of cases, there are a few that stand out as sturdy and ready for rugged wear and tear, often needed with OT clients young and old.

GumDrop Cases Drop Series Case for the New iPad 3 – Black/Red (DS-IPAD3-BLK-RED)
– Makers of the Gum Drop Cases are supplying them again for the New iPad. This is a tried and true case with use of the iPad and iPad2. Available in Black, Black/Red and Pink.

Hard Candy Cases for New iPad 3 Bubble Case 360 – Black (IPAD3-B360-BLK)
This case provides a bubble case with a built in screen protector. This is one case I might consider for students with learning disabilities to reduce bulk but provide protection. Available in black and white for approximately $59.95.

BodyGuardz Carbon Fiber Armor Full Body Skin for the Apple New iPad (3rd Generation) – Black (BZ-ACBI3-0312)  – Listed as protection with minimal bulk, this case appears to provide protection within a low scale case. This is another case that I might consider for the LD students who may be using an iPad in school. $29.95

Ekto2 Protective Cover for Ipad 2 and New iPad, Black   – This is protective case by Uzibull, that is made for rugged use but low scale. Available in black and white and sells for  $32.95 from Amazon.
OtterBox Defender Series for The New iPad 3 3rd Generation & iPad 2 – Black
– Available for the New iPad, this case provides protection when dropped or thrown (we have testimonials!!). The cover provides a stand for the iPad. $89.95

There is a minor change in the thickness of the New iPad which may or may not require a different case from the Pad2. I hope I will be challenged by the prospect of finding a case for the New iPad. I am anxious to explore Dragon Dictation and the new camera capabilities which can extend accessibility even farther for some individuals with disabilities!
